Doodle Flowers: Creating Depth with Stamps and Dies

Doodle Flowers: Creating Depth with Stamps and Dies

On occasion you see a stamp or die set and you instantly know the card you want to make. That’s what happened when I saw the Doodle Flower Dies from the recent LDRS November Collection. I immediately thought back to the Wild Flowers Slimline stamp set released last spring and knew that I want to combined the two sets together. The stamp floral and the die floral have a similar whimsical feel that work well together. With the Wild Flowers Slimline stamp set I created a subtle tone on tone background with softness and depth behind the Doodle Flower Dies. I had a hard time deciding how to handle the sentiment because I didn’t want to cover any of the vibrant flowers. Can you see where I snuck the sentiment in? Found the perfect small sentiment in the Spring Gift Tag Stack stamp set that fit perfectly on a die cut leaf and then tucked it behind a flower.

For some that may be ink blending (which I also love) or die cutting or paper piercing or any number of fun things, but for me it is laying out some critters and grabbing the colouring medium of choice and simply relaxing and colouring.

LDRS: Have an Ice Day

LDRS: Have an Ice Day

Todays card features the stamp set Have an Ice Day. The card is also one of those edge to edge shaker cards, which are very popular right now. In past I’ve avoided edge to edge shaker card because I was afraid of making a great big mess. One time I attempted something similar with a fuse tool and I ended up with glitter absolutely everywhere. But I’m telling ya they are surprisingly very, very easy to make. So I am thinking there are a lot of Holiday edge to edge shaker cards in my future : )
