Your Next Stamp Holiday Release Paws Joy Love

Here is my latest venture with the Your Next Stamps holiday release. I am using a favourite technique of a character with a soft ink blended and stencilled background.

Get the look:

  • Start by laying out where the character and sentiment will be placed on the 4”x4” card. I spaced it so I could easily use post it tape to mask off half an inch on 2 sides. Left the other sides open so the ink blend could fade out to nothing.

  • Stamped and masked character and added sentiment.

  • With character and two sides masked I lightly blended two distress ink colours. Each colour blending out from one of the edges and meeting in the middle and fading out towards the top. 

  • Once I was happy with the solid colour blends, I blended the same colours over the top of a paws print stencil with a little more pressure.

  • Then there is the joy of the big reveal as your pull all the masking up. 

  • Colour your characters with your favourite method of colouring.

  • All that is left to do is add panel to a 41/4” x 4 1/4” card base.
