Purple Onion Designs, Lottie’s Gang - Birthday Squad: Creating a Mini Shaker

I made this card well over a month ago, I just haven’t had a chance to type up a blog entry for it yet. Such a cute stamp set called Lottie’s Gang - Birthday Squad from Julian Charlton over at Purple Onion Designs. As soon as I saw stamp I knew I wanted to take the balloon portion of the stamp and convert it into a mini shaker. And so I did : )

Get the Look:

  • Die cut a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of card stock using a stitched die or cutter. Die cut grass in 2 different colours.

  • Position and stamp Lottie’s Birthday Squad onto card stock. At same time create a mask for Lottie’s gang.

  • Using a balloon die that is similar in size as the stamped balloon, position over stamped image and die cut out balloon.

  • Place mask over Lottie’s Birthday Squad and using a cloud stencil, lightly blend salty ocean distress ink to make clouds.

  • Colour your image with your favourite medium.

  • Stamp sentiment on grass. Layer and glue grass onto card panel.

  • Time to build shaker. Add acetate and double layer of foam tape behind the die cut balloon. Fill the well with sequins and shaker bits.

  • For fun and bling, close up the shaker window with a small piece of glitter card stock.

  • Add double layer of foam tape to the rest of the card panel back.

  • Attach to an A2 cardbase.
