YNS Challenge #151: Candy

I know Halloween is just around the corner, but I jumped right into Christmas for this weeks challenge at Your Next Stamp. The theme of Candy is so appropriate for Halloween, but then really when isn’t Candy a good time for a theme. As I said before I am not a not a huge Halloween card maker, so my mind went straight to the next sugar filled holiday - Christmas. Of course to me Candy Canes screams Christmas. What does Candy mean to you? Are you all about the Halloween candy or does another candy filled holiday appeal to you. Looking forward to see what you create.

Get the Look:

  • This whole card grew from the little candy cane Mr Unicorn is holding. First I coloured and fussy cut out the unicorn and mounted it on a small die cut frame.

  • Use some scrap pieces of red, white and silver card and cut into different width strips. Adhered them to a piece of copy paper. This way when glued together the thickness of strips can still easily be die cut.

  • Die cut out the Happy Holidays on Kraft card stock from with the Christmas Word die. Line up and glue it to the bottom area of the stripe panel. (It can overhang on 3 sides a little because we are going to die cut them off).

  • Using a stitched rectangle die cut stripes and sentiment. This way we get a nice stitched border all the way round the entire rectangle.

  • Adhere unicorn onto striped panel. Then adhere to an A2 card base.
