So while spending so much time at home, I love how Jennifer McGuire and Kirstina Werner’s Online Card Classes course Spring Card Camp gives us a new idea everyday for making two for one cards. Every morning I find a new video link in my inbox with a skill to practise and/or many idea that has taken me out of my crafty comfy zone. It’s a great way to try out new ideas and grow as a cardmaker.

With all that is going on these days, I am so, so, so, so, just one more, sooooo grateful that I have a wonderful hobby that lowers my stress levels. Also the strength in the community that surrounds this hobby is beyond incredible. How wonderful is it, that even in these difficult times we can still share and enjoy card making. Hopefully the new Jane’s Doodles Challenge of Rainbows can lift you up a little and also inspire you to enjoy some crafty time. 

Hoping in the next little while to put a little fun in some friends mailboxes, because we all know that getting mail is always fun especially when it’s not expected. Just want to remind people that I miss hanging with them and look forward to when we can finally hangout.

Overall this is a relatively simple card. Some basic masking, blending and copic colouring.

The new challenge at Jane’s Doodles is embossing. Hope you will join in the embossing challenge it is such a fun theme with so many options and techniques that can to be done. I may have got carried away with the new challenge, I was having so much with the emboss resist technique. Since Easter is just around the corner and it has a wonderful collection of small stamps I choose to use Jane’s Doodles Funny Bunny stamp set to create the emboss resist background.

Time to pull out your post it notes or masking paper because the theme for this months Jane’s Doodle Challenge is one of my favourite techniques; Masking. In fact I think masking is misunderstood, to be overly fussy and complicated. But it doesn’t have to be complicated it can be as simple as using a line of paper and some simple ink blending. Regardless results are always stunning.

You can’t help but look at this monkey and smile. He is so cheeky, which is what made me want to do a fun colourful background. I never tire of creating with regular or oxide distress inks, they never disappoint. Which is why I think they are a favourite for me to use in my craft room. I seem to go through phases as to which one I prefer to create with regular or oxide distress ink. Oxide I find creamy and softer where as regular inks tend to be brighter. And this monkey screams bright.
