YNS Challenge #142: How does your Garden Grow?

How does your garden grow? Well if I’m being quite honest, not very well, I’d much rather be making cards than out gardening. But hey, this is a card challenge about gardening or being in your garden, or critters and bugs that hang out in your garden or anything related to gardening. So with this new challenge starting over at Your Next Stamp I created a little bird scene.

Get the Look:

  • Other than some masking this is a very easy card to make.

  • The key to masking is to stamp the things you want in the front first, mask them, then stamp the other images that will be behind. Once you’ve done it a few times it really does become easy.

  • Simply layout, stamp and mask your images on Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

  • With a pencil lightly mark out a 2.75” square and then mask off the outer area.

  • Now with everything masked that needs to be covered blend distress oxides; tumbled glass and cracked pistachio over the square opening.  (The opaqueness of Oxides make them great for getting colour coverage over coloured card stock).

  • Remove masks and colour images with your favourite colouring medium. (I used coloured pencils which look amazing on Kraft card stock).

  • Mount on an A2 card base.
